If you’d like to book a tour outside these times, this can be arranged. You’ll spend 1.5 to 2 hours on the water, depending on the conditions. Our tours run for a minimum of three hours and a maximum of four hours, this includes transport to and from the river and your time sledding. So go on, have a gander at Meander with us! We think the best thing about our tours is getting out in our adventure playground with the fresh air and the pristine water which has flowed directly from the rugged Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. From here, you’ll be transported to the riverbank where our river sledding adventure begins! We’ll look after you from the moment you arrive, right through to when we conclude the tour and you’re dropped back to the Hall. Our tours kick off at the Meander Memorial Hall where we’ll meet you and you’ll be introduced to our awesome guides. From here, you’ll spend 1.5 to two hours on the water and travel three kilometres downstream while our guides share local stories from days gone by and give you the option to try out tricks with your newfound river sledding skills!

You’ll be taken through a full briefing before hitting the water for a skills session before you float your way toward the first round of rapids.

Our tours are a whitewater experience, where you’ll enjoy the thrill of grade one and two river rapids all while taking in the tranquillity of the Meander River and its surrounds. At Meander Wilderness Experiences, we’re all about highlighting the unique flora and fauna of the Meander River in Northern Tasmania while you soak (literally!) in the sights. Whether you’re looking for a fun, family activity or you’re keen to explore the Meander Valley region while travelling in Tasmania, you’ve come to the right place.
